History

The SAILS Consortium was established in 2021. Its Steering Committee draws from both the library and doctrinal experts from law schools around the world. The first SAILS meeting was held in 2022 and was attended by participants from Cornell University, Duke University, Harvard University, King’s College London, Oxford University, Rutgers University, the University of Arizona, the University of California – Hastings, the University of California – Los Angeles, the University of Georgia, the University of Miami, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Virginia and the University of Wisconsin, and Yale University.  That exploratory session led to a preliminary research agenda to which many more scholars have contributed.

Since the first SAILS meeting, the Consortium has held a number of scholarly workshops. For detailed information regarding each event see Events

Now in its third year, SAILS has engaged with more than four dozen scholars from around the world. With a grant from Georgetown University, SAILS is embarking on an even more ambitious set of projects in 2024.
